Most wounds heal with time. When they do not heal, specialists at WOUND MANAGEMENT can provide interdisciplinary care that uses many of the latest wound-healing techniques for patients who are seeking relief for their acute and chronic wounds.
The range of services provided by the staff at the WOUND MANAGMENT includes: physician support and assessment in the areas of infectious diseases, podiatry, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, orthopedics and wound care.
Treatments offered are evidence-based and may include skin substitutes, medicated dressings such as gels, alginates and silver foams, compression therapy, negative pressure therapy, and chemical or surgical debridement.
"I have come a long way..." Kala's StoryLast I was diagnosed with a blood infection and underwent 12 weeks of antibiotic therapy but still struggled with his health. I began treatments at the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Center to help the surgical wound heal. I was released from the hospital the week before Thanksgiving and then transferred to a rehabilitation center for 10 days where he continued the treatments. Now he is home and goes to HBO several times a week. He says, "The care I receive at HBO has been excellent. Dr. Rafols, and he's staff treat me very well. I was a little anxious when I first began the treatments but they have made it painless. I even look forward to the treatments because I know they are helping me heal. I have come a long way."
"I got well..." Sam's StoryA month after Sam injured her leg, the wound still had not healed. Her doctor referred her to the Wound Management at the Renaissance Hospital for wound care treatment. Mrs. Garza says, "On my first visit they tested the oxygen levels in my leg and began treatment. After just one more visit, my wound healed. All I can say is that everyone was very kind and polite. They were very professional and did a good job. I got well."
